Many a debate (ahem argument) has been had regarding fuels....So we are going to keep this nice and simple. We have used the majority of fuels on the market today. Two pilots probably have two different views on fuels. FIND A FUEL/PLUG COMBINATION THAT RUNS RELIABLY AND CONSISTENTLY AND STICK TO IT!.
One of us swears by Coolpower and one likes Wildcat. Why? Because that is what works for us.
Model fuel is not like car fuel.....it does not pay to keep switching brands as you will probably just end up fiddling with your engine more often than flying!
The Raptors run on an OS #8 plug and 30% Coolpower. Have done for years and will do for years!.
Just remember that when you have finished flying to drain your fuel and run the heli dry! Model fuel when left for long periods tends to corrode bearings!
So next time your club ‘expert say you wanna be using this and you wanna be using that.....take it all in your stride and just observe.....If their heli’ flies well then they maybe onto something but if they spend more time talking or fiddling than flying you may want to ask yourself why. ;-)
