3D helicopter flying is probably the most difficult to learn out of all the model flying disciplines. The model is constantly moving in multiple directions at the same time.
Before attempting any of the 3D manoeuvres you should be competent in general flight (circuits, nose in hovering) and all the basic aerobatic manoeuvres (loops, rolls etc).
One of the first steps into 3D starts with the inverted hover. This should be attempted at height to begin with and gradually you will begin to get lower. The inverted hover is still a great way to impress your mates.
